Executive Assessment - CEO
15/10/2008
Professional services organisation – and a highly political environment.
We assessed four candidates and examined interpersonal leadership skills to identify ‘risk factors’ given the client’s known, highly political environment. Usually interpersonal leadership characteristics are strengths, but when overplayed under pressure they can impede effectiveness and erode the quality of working relationships.
We were able to describe the typical behaviour of each candidate and to highlight the potential ‘fault lines’ when under pressure in a difficult political situation. We fed back to each person, but fully debriefed the successful person on how best to deploy his strengths and how he could manage his way round his possible weaknesses.
