Fabio is interims’ choice
10/06/2008
England manager Fabio Capello and our Olympic relay squad have more in common with the average interim executive than you might imagine.
When we asked our interims for a definition of their role, Dominic Mason responded with: “Interim management can be summed up in two words: Fabio Capello.”
Tony Kretowicz suggested: “It’s like running a perfect Olympic relay: you get handed the baton, you move it with pace and control, delivering safely while improving team performance.”
John van Blerkom had a different take, with his definition: “Man Friday arrives Monday.”
The winning entries were: Bill Jones with: “Supersubs that come off the bench at any time to deliver results in any part of the team.”
And Raymond Mather’s “Interim Management is characterised by interims who are Action orientated, Level headed, Informed risk takers, Unflappable and Motivated.” (Alium)
