Interim Executive Management Selection Criteria

Have you got what it takes?

All providers have very different criteria for accepting potential interim managers onto their register. Potential interim who are successful in joining a providers' register typically meet the following criteria:

  • You will have made the commitment to work as a professional interim manager. It is useful for executives that are new to interim management to visit the Interim Management Association website at www.interimmanagement.uk.com
  • You have previously held a Board, Operating Board level role for at least 5-10 years.
  • You have worked at Executive Committee level, have held a functional specialist role or have worked in a senior management generalist role.
  • You will have a multi-sector background, however, if you have a particular sector focus in one or two industry areas this may also be of interest to interim providers.
  • Many providers will insist that you have carried out a minimum of one assignment.
  • Most interim providers do not register candidates who are also seeking a permanent role.
