Interim Management Training: Market Yourself

Last Month saw Alium host it’s inaugural Introduction To Interim course, exclusive to Alium interim managers, attended by a diverse mix of existing interims and others wishing to start this exciting career path.

When we ask for feedback on this and the other interim training courses I’ve held over the last year or so, there was a recurring theme – the part of the course relating to “marketing yourself as an interim” is by far the most popular topic.

Interim Management Training Event

It wasn’t only this detailed research that led us to the decision to put together a course entitled “Marketing Yourself As An Interim” to be held on the 31st July in London.  Experience of regularly talking to hundreds of interims tells us that this is an area at the forefront of  interest – how do we make sure we are maximising all marketing opportunities to win our next assignments?

Things have certainly changed since the days of speculatively sending a CV or relying upon an Interim Service Provider to find you a role – you are going to be found and win assignments (or not) in many different ways on many different platforms in today’s market.  Many hiring managers now adopt a multitude of different methodologies to hire interim managers,  which is why it’s important to cover all the bases.

The course is a logical journey  through the current marketing methodologies available to interim managers – from creating your own personal “brand” to what to do with it (and in the right order) to maximise your chances of winning assignments.

I am a firm exponent of  what Sir David Brailsford calls the “aggregation of marginal gains” and translating this philosophy into our course  has been one of the most rewarding parts of putting it together.

If you would like to know more have a look at the course details here: Advanced Interim Marketing. Alternatively leave a message in the comments box below if you have a specific question about the event.
