“The Business Transformation Practice that John Bloor leads hosted a dinner at Chef’s Table at one of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants, Maze, early in October. In charge of the kitchen that evening was none other than award winning executive chef, Jason Atherton, with whom our party enjoyed some serious banter once the restaurant had started to quieten down later on. What was really fascinating was seeing what a highly organized environment a top kitchen is, the superb level of teamwork that goes in to ensuring that food arrives at table on time, and the frenetic pace that the kitchen staff are able to maintain all evening. This was quite some management challenge!

We had the opportunity for a little bit of ‘interim management’ on the way. One of the guests, Ed Horne of Klesch & Co was charged with preparing the fish course (just for the Alium table!) for which he was provided with full chef’s attire – and very good his cooking turned out to be.

We will be continuing our ‘Chef’s Table’ evenings next year. As well as being both a fascinating and enjoyable experience for everyone attending, it provides us with a great opportunity to spend an extended period of time with clients and exchange views and opinions on what is happening in the market.”
